200 kg/h EPS Foam Pelletizing Line Project for a Chilean Recycling Equipment Buyer

  • Location: Chile
  • Material: Waste EPS foam
  • Target Capacity: 150–200 kg/h
  • Solicitud: Foam recycling and plastic pellet production

From Bulky Foam Waste to Reusable Plastic Pellets

A Chilean trading company approached Shuliy Machinery while sourcing recycling equipment for an end customer. The buyer regularly traveled to China to inspect machinery and coordinate purchases, but needed a practical solution that could meet the end user’s processing requirements without making equipment selection unnecessarily complicated.

The project included an important requirement: recycling waste EPS foam into reusable plastic pellets. For businesses handling discarded foam packaging, the main challenge is not simply collecting waste. Loose EPS foam occupies considerable storage and transport space, while its low density makes handling and logistics less convenient.

The customer therefore needed an 200 kg/h EPS foam pelletizing line that could process foam waste into a more manageable and reusable form.

Customized 200 kg/h EPS Foam Pelletizing Line

After reviewing the requested capacity and application, Shuliy proposed an 200 kg/h EPS foam pelletizing line with an integrated crushing and pelletizing machine, a cooling tank, a pellet cutter, a draught fan, and an electrical control cabinet.

The proposed configuration included:

  • Crushing and pelletizing machine: The integrated unit crushes and melts the EPS foam before extrusion, helping simplify the main processing stages.
  • Cooling tank: The extruded material passes through the cooling section before cutting.
  • Pellet cutting machine: The cooled strands are cut into smaller recycled plastic pellets.
  • Draught fan: Supports material conveying as required by the equipment layout.
  • Electrical control cabinet: Provides centralized control for the pelletizing equipment.

The proposed machine model was 220+150, with a combined motor power of 20.5 kW and a stated processing capacity of 150–200 kg/h.

This 200 kg/h EPS foam pelletizing line was selected to match the buyer’s stated capacity range while keeping the main processing equipment and auxiliary units organized into one coordinated package.

Actual output depends on the type, density, cleanliness, feeding conditions, and operating parameters of the incoming foam. A material assessment and configuration review are recommended before finalizing the equipment.

Why Choose a Dedicated EPS Foam Pelletizing Line?

EPS foam has a very different structure from ordinary rigid plastic. Its low bulk density means that transportation and storage can become major considerations before recycling even begins.

A dedicated 200 kg/h EPS foam pelletizing line offers a route for converting suitable waste EPS into recycled pellets instead of handling the loose foam as bulky waste.

For recycling businesses and packaging waste processors, this approach can offer several practical advantages:

  • More manageable output: Pelletized material is easier to handle than loose foam.
  • A defined processing workflow: Crushing, melting, extrusion, cooling, and cutting are arranged in sequence.
  • A capacity-oriented configuration: The equipment package is designed around the requested 150–200 kg/h range.
  • Simplified equipment sourcing: The main machine and supporting components can be supplied as one coordinated package.

The suitability of the finished pellets for resale or reuse depends on material quality and the requirements of the downstream application. Buyers should evaluate these factors alongside equipment capacity and investment costs.

A Practical Equipment Selection Process

For international buyers purchasing on behalf of an end user, choosing machinery involves more than comparing quotations. The equipment must match the actual raw material, the expected throughput, the available installation space, and the buyer’s intended recycling process.

Shuliy’s proposed 200 kg/h EPS foam pelletizing line was developed around the stated capacity and the need for a complete foam pelletizing setup. The buyer could review the equipment package and discuss the configuration before proceeding with the purchasing decision.

For projects with additional requirements, such as upstream foam compaction or separate shredding, the process should be assessed according to the available raw material and the intended production arrangement.
